HEALTH AND WELLNESS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We understand that health occurs beyond medical care, through our genetics, behavior, environment and social circumstances. The incredible organizations we have partnered with help the community with addiction, child sexual abuse, senior well-being, special needs, mental health and developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n www.adeara.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n Adeara is an accredited, long-term residential addiction recovery centre for women staffed by a team of caring professionals. They are one of a few facilities in Canada that accepts both women and their children and offers supportive care to keep families together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Adeara believes in empowering vulnerable women to change their lives and rebuild themselves as positive members of the community and with the support of their donors, they are able to do this. Their residential program offers women the tools they need to take responsibility for their own recovery process. From education and individual counseling to group therapy and spiritual development, the Adeara team supports women and their families every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How we support them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We have found several opportunities to partner with Adeara, such as donating craft supplies following family events, making donations to their thrift store ‘More Than a Fad<\/a>‘, and sharing their fundraising initiatives such as \u2018Leap of Faith\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n www.ofss.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n Operation Friendship Seniors Society is a nonprofit organization that offers services, without judgement, to improve the lives of seniors in need over the age of 55 years. They have been operating in the Edmonton inner-city since 1969. Through deep-rooted values such as friendship, dignity, community, and independence, Operation Friendship Seniors Society offers a number of programs, including Outreach, Helping Hands, Housing Facilities and Recreation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How we support them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Custom furniture and items built for events (benches, gazebos, etc.) are donated to OFSS. OFSS is then able to use them at their seniors centres and housing facilities. Additionally, our team is happy to support their fundraising initiatives throughout the year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n SUSTAINABILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are extremely conscious of sustainable efforts and our level of accountability. To ensure that, we incorporate sustainable practices before, during, and after events that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We’ve partnered with organizations that help reduce waste, repurpose items and recycle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Habitat for Humanity Edmonton brings together communities to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership. Parents benefit by having the stability of affordable payments that allows them to build equity and save for a bright future for their family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n With Habitat homeownership, children have a safe and stable place to call home. This stability allows children to set up a \u201chome base\u201d where they can make friends, develop meaningful connections with their teachers, and engage in extracurricular activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How we support them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When facilitating live events, we donate any leftovers supplies that were used to make props, decor items or artwork that were created or used, and\/or any books that were used in our event design.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n INCLUSION AND ACCESSIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are always learning and opening our minds to ways to become more accessible and inclusive to communities that we are not part of. Our ongoing partnerships are one way that we connect with and learning from people with disabilities and indigenous communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n www.vadsociety.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n Voice of Albertans with Disabilities (VAD) is dedicated to supporting individuals, organizations, government representatives, schools, business personnel and employers in an effort to reduce accessibility barriers that inhibit participation. VAD actively finds solutions that promote full participation in society and provides a voice for Albertans with disabilities. They are a collaboration of Alberta-based advocacy organizations, using their collective voice to influence an inclusive and accessible province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n How we support them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are committed to working closely with VAD to ensure that we are providing accessible and inclusive events, whether virtual, hybrid, or in-person.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n https:\/\/www.zacharyweeks.ca\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n Zachary Weeks is a passionate advocate for disability issues and social justice. He strives to raise awareness about ableism, discrimination, and accessibility issues through consultation, workshops and public speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How we support them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We work with Zachary on a case-by-case consultant basis to ensure that our events are accessible to all.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n https:\/\/www.disabilityabd.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n Disability: Accessible by Design is a disABILITY consulting agency with a mission of creating more education & awareness! Led by Brad Bartko, they are on a mission to ensure that events and venues across Canada are accessible to people of all abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How we support them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We work with Brad and his team on a case-by-case consultant basis to ensure that our events are accessible.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\nAdeara<\/h4>
