Objective: Where in the world can you watch live entertainment, eat s’mores, decorate cookies, ride a sleigh, and indulge in mulled wine all in one place? The answer is the coveted “All Is Bright” winter festival! This was the fifth year for our winter city to host the popular event and this one had to bigger and better than the rest. Coming up with new and exciting entertainment and specialty vendors, unique food options and bringing more options to the beverage gardens were only a few of the challenges we were faced with this year.

Outcome: 2019 showed us some love with warmer than typical weather, which ended up bringing record crowds to the sum of 25,000 people! For these types of crowds, Tycoon Events had to use their magic to source awesome interactive activities like axe throwing, printmaking, baking bannock, northern light installation crafts, tea making, musical coding, sleigh rides, the light up craft, cookie decorating, and the Santa photobooth, as well as several spectator sports, like wood carving and the various light up street performers. When guests were not taking in these activations, they were dancing along to the music heard from the main stage. With several acts, a DJ, movement challenges, speeches and Santa, there was never a dull moment. And who can forget the light-up ceremony?! Everyone in the crowd was encouraged to countdown until all of the lights in Helen Nolan Park were suddenly turned on and the entire street lit up. In all, many happy guests indulged in all the great activities, snacks and drinks, our constellation craft, cookie decorating tent, and s’mores booth all sold out, and more Edmontonians than ever came to the 124th street area to support our neighboring businesses; we would call that a success.
