Objective: The ‘Raise Our Wings Gala’ is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. The objective was to raise as much money as possible and have donors sponsor each of the 9 puppies who would be going into training.
It was also important to showcase all the sponsors of the event and ensure that the silent auction was successful.
Outcome: A total of 255 guests attended the fundraising event.
Guests were greeted by puppies, a champagne reception and a balloon arch leading them into the main ballrooms.
Once inside, guests were able to partake in many activities, while they were treated to upbeat music provided by a local DJ. The activities included a photo booth, dog demonstrations provided by the fully trained dogs in service, the silent auction, a wine and spirits wall, a 50/50 raffle, a Westjet trip raffle and a live painter.
Guest tables were decorated with themed florals and a program of the evening. Once it was time to sit down to dinner, a small program commenced, that included speeches from the main sponsor, Stahl Peterbilt.
At dinner, guests were able to mingle and network while they listened to the music stylings of Matt Day.
After dinner, the main program began, which factored in a live auction, and the winners of the raffles!
Overall, the Dogs with Wings organization raised over $200,000 at their live auction alone and saw much more come in with their other fundraising efforts at the event. Guests, clients and donors alike had a great time partaking in all the activities and contributing to the fundraiser!
