RE/MAX Field and the Edmonton Riverhawks hosted Edmonton Unlimited’s Launch Party 16, as part of Startup Week, bringing together founders, students, entrepreneurs, investors, sponsors, and community builders to celebrate 10 Startup Week feature companies.

The event embodied Start Up Week’s theme “Step In. Step Up. Step Forward.” with elements staying true to the baseball experience for attendees and invited companies, from the ballpark food served to the event activations, and take-home gifts for the featured startup companies.

Highlights of the evening include:

  • Riverhawks players operated a pitching station where guests learned how to throw baseballs and practiced trying to get their pitches to home plate.
  • An inflatable practice pitching game allowed guests to use their newly taught skills and win prizes like exclusive branded hats and stress balls.
  • A baseball-themed photo station with props and backdrop was available for guests, while the Riverhawks mascot, River, was present for photo opportunities throughout the evening.
  • Guests visited the 10 Launch Party company displays throughout the evening to learn about the companies’ work and achievements.
  • The 10 companies were presented with a custom Jumbo Trading Card, as well as custom-made wallet-sized trading cards to take home.
  • Drone footage documented the evening’s activities.
  • The Jays game played on televisions in the Hawk’s Nest.
  • Guests could dine and drink at three curated stations throughout the venue using their food and beverage vouchers. Each station featured a different menu of food and drink.
