Objective:
The event recognized and celebrated the achievements and contributions of the employees of Servus Credit Union in Alberta, Canada. Recognizing that their devotion and determination to forge ahead went ‘above and beyond’.
The milestones that were being celebrated were: 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years, 40 years and 45 years!
Due to the pandemic the celebrations for 2020 & 2021 were postponed, meaning that this event captured the Years of Service Award Celebrants for 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Since Servus Credit Union is Alberta-wide, with over 100 locations scattered across our province, the celebrations needed to take place in more than one location.
It was decided that the event would be taking place simultaneously at 6 different locations, at the exact same time, with a livestream from the main event reaching all locations. The CEO of Servus Credit Union, Ian Burns, acted as our main emcee in Edmonton (our largest event location), with the support of other emcee’s at the 5 other locations. Ian was able to speak live at the Edmonton event while simultaneously broadcasting his message to the other 5 locations.
Outcome:
Our theme was “Above and Beyond” and our objective was to ensure that all guests felt recognized and appreciated.
During the pandemic years this event was postponed, so any of the previous milestone recipients were recognized at this event as well. The milestones included 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service. Since this was the first in-person celebration in many years, the program allowed for networking before the seated program and throughout the evening with the aid of ‘table hosts’ who were strategically placed to initiate conversations at each table. Attendees were not able to bring a plus-one, so facilitated networking was appreciated.
Each milestone recipient received a glass award, a certificate, and a portable power bank. These elements were neatly packaged then wrapped together with custom branding and placed on the chair of each attendee at their respective location.
Throughout the program the emcee drew attention to the screen which was displaying the celebrants names, grouped by years of achievement. The milestone recipients with 40 years of service or more were individually called onto the stage to receive personal congratulations from the CEO, flowers and a photo with corporate executives.
