Objective: Solar Show 2021, hosted by Solar Alberta, was a four-day online event dedicated to advancing the awareness and understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies, alternative forms of transportation, and Alberta’s role in the energy transition; through exhibitor booths, main stage presentations and workshops. The Solar Show worked with community partners, skilled instructors, speakers, and businesses to provide leading edge education for Albertans.
In 2021, the event included free programming for the general public (‘General Admission’), with paid programming options. Paid sessions could be added to admission if attendees wanted a more in-depth learning on solar industry matters. These sessions were also targeted to industry professionals. Thursday, March 4th sessions were geared towards energy efficiency enthusiasts and builders and Friday, March 5th sessions were geared towards solar and electrical professionals.
Outcome: The four-day event had over 600 registrations. Solar Show’s programming included 17 sessions, 24 speakers, 14 exhibitor booths, and ample networking opportunities. There was a variety of programming types from Fireside Chats, to live ‘onsite’ podcasts, Story Hour, and so much more! The event was dynamic, informative, and accessible.
